Tada! Here is our list of tools that we cannot live without!
We hope that this will help you as you move towards creating your profitable photography business!
Branding & Marketing
We love 99 Designs! If you are looking for someone to design your logo, business cards, marketing materials, brochures, or photography swag, this site can do it for you!
99 Designs is a design contest marketplace. How it works is you place a proposal for what you want designed and set a budget. Designers will work on your project and submit their work for your consideration. At the end you choose which designs you like best, submit improvements and changes, and then pick a winner. You only pay if you like a design.
We have used 99 Designs for our Santa Experience Course, Headshots Workshop, and associate photographer program. We have been happy with our end results!
Pic Monkey is awesome for those who love to design on their own. It gives you options to use different themes, overlays, fonts, and filters.
We use Pic Monkey for our Facebook ads and website images.
Canva is also another amazing resource for those who love to design on their own. You can use different templates, text, and images, including your own.
We use Canva for images we post on Facebook, social media cover photos, and PDF templates.
Meet Edgar is a huge time saver and helper when it comes to social media. It allows you to create posts for your social media channels and then stores them in a library for you to reuse over and over! So now all your brilliant posts can be enjoyed over and over by your followers!
We love Meet Edgar not only for our Facebook business pages, but for our PROFITographers Facebook Group. The daily posts are a great way to get conversations started!
Mail chimp is a mass email follow-up system. As you grow your business, you should also grow your email list. Most of us don’t have the capacity to copy and paste hundreds, even thousands of emails all at one time. Mail chimp allows you to create a system to email your clients and prospects and is very user friendly! Mail chimp and other professional services like them spend a lot of time researching email marketing and have created firm relationships with companies like Apple, Microsoft, Hotmail, to make sure their users emails get delivered and they are not black listed.
Mag Cloud is an on demand low run printer, so you can print fliers and booklets inexpensively without breaking the bank. We use them for our pricing sheets because the quality represents our brand properly.
Photo Shelter is a templated website service for photographers. You can instantly create a professional looking design and it is very user friendly!
Photo Biz is another template website service for photographers to help you get up and running. This is a great place to start to get your website up and running quickly.
Pro Photo Blogs
For those of you with WordPress websites, Pro Photo Blogs is one of the leading photo WordPress theme plugins specifically for photographers. This tool will allow you to add a professional looking blog to your website.
For those looking for an all inclusive solution where you only pay once, Sytist may be for you. Sytist features a main site/gallery, proofing system, and more. It is what we have been using the past couple of years for our client proofing.
Dropbox is online legal file sharing service. We use Dropbox all of the time for instant delivery to our clients. It is easy and secure which is really important to us. Also, you can access it at anytime, so it is a great tool that we use when we are traveling.
17 hats is an amazing system that will help you streamline your communication with prospects and clients and create a workflow that makes sense for your business. There are tons of other options including an invoicing system, creating contracts, and more! We love 17 hats and how it has changed the way that we do business!
Google calendar is the calendar system that we use daily. We like it because it can be shared with our associate photographers and it is integrated with our Gmail.
Go To My PC
Go to my PC is a system where you can instantly access your computer from anywhere. This is great for those of you that are on the go! We use it when we are traveling and have to access certain files from home.
Pandora is a subscription based streaming music service. We use Pandora for our background music when we have clients in our studio.
Spotify is another subscription based music service. We use Spotify in our office to listen to music while we are doing work!
Square is a online credit card process that allows us to take payments. You can use your iphone to swipe credit cards when you are on location and also use this service to invoice clients.
